The starting point of the approx. 12.2 km long circular route is the parking lot of the historic Pape brickworks in Bevern. This is now run by the brickworks association as a living industrial museum and can be visited from May to September on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.
At the very beginning, the access road from the parking lot leads into the forest past the former clay pit filled with water - today called Lehmkuhle. A real gem surrounded by trees. We follow the hiking trail at the upper end of the clay pit in a clockwise direction. A narrow path winds its way through the forest to the main path in the Beverner Wald - the extension of the Byhusener Weg.
At the first junction, we first keep right and then immediately left to enjoy the tranquillity of the "Beverner Wald" nature reserve. After about 2.4 km, we turn right and follow the forest path for another kilometer to Malstedter Straße. There we turn right briefly and then immediately left again towards Plönjeshausen, where we can already see the homestead grounds . The local heritage association has lovingly restored the grounds with its half-timbered ensemble and offers coffee and cake on Sundays from 2-5 pm.
We continue our tour along the tree-lined street "Beverwehr". The name says it all: at the bridge over the Bever, the water is dammed up by the Beverwehr and released into the lower course in a controlled manner. A group of benches invites you to listen to the roaring water. The route continues across the former and historic mill site. Next to an old courthouse stone is the Apolonia Hus café  which is usually open on Sunday afternoons. The name Apolonia goes back to a historical name for Plönjeshausen. The summer highlight of the café is the seating on a footbridge in the old mill arm of the Bever.
We follow the main path over the cobblestones of the mill grounds and over the Duxbach, which flows into the Bever after a few meters. Then immediately turn left into the street "Am Duxbach" until you reach the main road "B 71". Once there, we turn left and follow the cycle path. After 350 m we cross the "B 71". After a level crossing, we turn right and look out for a trampled path on the left-hand side, which leads into a small wooded area. The path now meanders along an old sandpit filled with water until we come to a crosspath behind the biotope. At the edge of the forest, we follow a grassy path and then a forest path to the crossroads, where we turn right and walk in a left-hand bend along the railroad.
At the level crossing, we turn left. After about 400 meters on the paved road lined with fruit trees, we turn right onto a gravel path until we reach the dog training area. There we cross the bypass to Bremervörde and walk along the railroad to the "Biberdamm" road. After the level crossing, keep right, walk past the Bevener cemetery into the village and follow the main road to the left over the Beverbrücke bridge.
On weekdays, you can buy groceries in the "Nordloh" grocery store in the village. Opposite, the imposing Church of the Holy Cross catches the eye. Built between 1877 and 1880, the brick church is one of Bevern's landmarks. Just a stone's throw away, the Pizzaria "Pantano" invites you to stop for a bite to eat. At the junction of the B 71 and Hesedorfer Straße is the monumental Oak of Bevern. The English oak is a 450-500-year-old veteran tree with a trunk circumference of around six meters. On certain days of the week, you can indulge in culinary delights under the overhanging branches from the Vendor's cart of the "Nudelei Bevern" . Opposite "Am Brink" there is a covered and illuminated pavilion, which invites you to take a break or have a picnic.
We continue along "Hesedorfer Straße" for 100 m and turn into "Byhusener Weg". At the first crossroads, turn right into "Lange Straße", then shortly afterwards left into "Am Rahden". Through the residential area, we reach the crossroads "Zur Lehmkuhle" and turn left there. At the end of the road, follow the grassy path along the edge of the field. After 300 m, we reach the edge of the Beverner Wald. Follow the path to the lehmkuhle and keep left. At the lake, we enjoy the beautiful surroundings once again - whether in spring, summer, fall or winter, the water offers special impressions in every season and invites you to linger on the benches. At the signpost, we return to the access road to the parking lot at the brickworks. After the hike, the Restaurant "Beverner Schweiz" (Selsinger Straße 16) directly on the B 71 is a great place to stop for a bite to eat.
