Starting from the Harburg district of Appelbüttel, the trail leads through the Rosengarten Regional Park right into the heart of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park. The hiking trail takes you past Klecker Wald forest and runs via Holm-Seppensen and through the cosy Büsenbachtal valley to Handeloh.
The route continues along narrow paths through the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve. You hike over the Wilseder Berg, through the car-free village of Wilsede and over the Totengrund to Niederhaverbeck.
After you have reached the Osterheide in Schenverdingen, you should definitely plan a short detour to Pietzmoor.
You then hike along field and meadow paths along the Böhme to Soltau. Here you leave the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park and walk via Bad Fallingbostel, the birthplace of the Freudenthal brothers, and Walsrode to the railway station in Verden (Aller).
