    Tide-free canoe route from Ditzum on the Ditzum-Bunder Sieltief to Ditzumerverlaat, 6.5 km, approx. 2 hours.

    Simple, beautiful canoe route that leads you through the heart of Rheiderland. The canal has no current and is therefore easy to master even for inexperienced canoeists. The destination Ditzum is one of the insider tips and many local establishments invite you to stop by. In Ditzum, a walk through the town and the harbor is worth it.

    Those cycling on the International Dollard Route can replace a section of the journey with this canoe route.

    The route starts from the Paddle and Pedal station in Ditzum heading south. After about 1 hour, the Wynhamster Mill is reached. The resting jetty there is worth a stop. Another 30 minutes later, the destination, the Paddle and Pedal station in Ditzumerverlaat, is reached.

    All participants should be confident swimmers.
    Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the water.
    Keep distance from other watercraft. Canoes must always give way and are sometimes poorly seen by motorboat drivers.

    In addition to canoe, life jacket, and paddle

    - waterproof barrel/bag for valuables
    - comfortable clothing
    - sufficient drinking water
    - depending on the weather
       - sunscreen and headgear
       - rain pants and jacket
    - change of clothes and towel
    - possibly a glasses strap

    Our combo route:
    Combine canoeing and cycling for a great day trip with paddle and pedal. Canoe to the neighboring station and cycle back.

    From BAB31 exit Jemgum towards Ditzum, after 19 km, turn left onto Hoher Weg in Ditzum, go straight to the parking lot at the sports field, then along the sports field to the P&P station

    Parking possible after consultation with the operator

    From Leer main station take bus 605 towards "Aaltuikerei" to the stop "Ditzum Molkereistraße/Hofstraße", then approx. 400 m on foot
