the many meters of elevation gain on the tour.
Although the Lüneburg Heath around Uelzen is not as flat as elsewhere
as elsewhere, but if you want to ride downhill at a higher speed for a longer distance
ride to the Elbe. The destination is the "Kniepenberg", whose 13% gradient is the
prelude to a wonderful, eight-kilometre-long uphill and downhill ride towards
Hitzacker. The well-maintained road offers beautiful views of the Elbe valley floodplain.
On the way back, the route crosses the former imperial hunting grounds in the Göhrde,
the largest contiguous mixed forest area in northern Germany.
