In Leinebergland, two electric cargo bikes have been available since March 2023 from Hilde, a free cargo bike rental service founded in Hildesheim in 2018.
One of the two cargo bikes will be available in Lampsringe from August 20, 2024 (rental station: Landbaumarkt Trinks) and can be booked for one to three days via the project website www.hilde-lastenrad.de.
After digital registration, the cargo bikes and rental times can be selected. A confirmation email including a code word is then sent. To pick up the bike at the rental station, you must bring your ID card and the code word. Once the data has been checked and the cargo bike has undergone a brief safety check, you can set off on your ride.
The Region Leinebergland e. V. association purchased the bikes in cooperation with the non-profit climate protection agency Landkreis Hildesheim.
The cargo bikes will initially be available to the municipalities for six months, after which they will move to the next location within the Leinebergland region.
The Bakfiets cargo bikes have been named "Leinelaster" and "Regionskutsche" and are equipped with an electric drive system.
